Installation Case of a 40-Ton Sand Dryer in Ipoh, Malaysia

Tongding has completed the installation and commissioning of a 40 t/h sand drying system in Ipoh, the capital of Perak State, Malaysia, and the equipment is now fully operational.

Ipoh is a major production hub for tin and sand/aggregate resources in Malaysia. While local river sand is abundant, the region’s tropical rainforest climate—characterized by high year-round humidity and prolonged rainy seasons—results in raw sand moisture content typically exceeding 20%. Conventional drying equipment struggles to consistently reduce moisture levels to below 0.5% under these conditions.

To address these challenges, Tongding customized a sand drying system specifically designed for high-moisture raw materials: the dryer drum utilizes corrosion-resistant materials, key components feature anti-rust treatments, and the motor is selected for continuous operation at 45°C. Additionally, the control system incorporates automatic moisture monitoring and adjustment capabilities; it dynamically regulates feed rates and hot air temperatures based on real-time feedback regarding the output moisture content, ensuring the final product consistently meets moisture specifications.
