Case Study: Installation of Dry Mortar Line and Dryer in Russia – Tongding Machinery

The dry mix mortar production equipment and sand drum dryer project undertaken by the Tongding factory in Russia have successfully completed installation and commissioning, and the equipment has officially entered operation.

 

Russia experiences long winters with temperatures plummeting to minus 30°C, placing high demands on equipment regarding cold-start capabilities and continuous operation. Located in an industrial zone in southern Russia, the project serves a client that primarily manufactures tile adhesives and masonry mortars for local and regional markets.

The project comprises two main components: a sand drying system and a dry-mix mortar production line. To address the specific characteristics of Russian river sand—namely its high moisture content and tendency to clump when frozen—Tongding’s sand dryer features increased drum insulation thickness and an anti-freeze design for the combustion chamber, ensuring reliable startup during winter. The dry-mix mortar production line utilizes a twin-shaft zero-gravity mixer and a PLC control interface with Russian-language support; formula switching is straightforward, allowing operators to work independently after training.

 

During the installation phase, Engineer Li from Tongding collaborated with the Russian team to complete equipment positioning, piping connections, electrical wiring, and integrated system commissioning. Following commissioning, a trial run with material was conducted; the equipment operated stably, and production capacity met the levels specified in the contract. The project has been successfully completed and has passed final acceptance.

 

Tongding provides a five-year warranty for the equipment and continues to offer remote technical support and formula optimization services after the project concludes.
